Say Wat??? Angkor Wat!

Hi every body, doing the blog a little earlier this evening since I have an hour free and im still awake!
Today was the day I was waiting for! Don’t get me wrong, every thing I have seen and experienced thus far has been fantastic however today was the reason I booked this trip. Today we spent the day at Angkor Wat Temples. The most recognized and celebrated temples in the world and I assure you, they deserve that honor.
We started by leaving the hotel at 5 am to witness the sunrise over the Temples. What a spectacle, to see the temple appear from the darkness was just a once in a life time sight. The dark silhouette giving way to such historic man made architecture was a experience myself and the thousand others who were there had dreamed of.
After sunrise, we headed back to the hotel to have breakfast and get ready to go back for the day. We arrived back at the Temples around 9 am for a day of exploring. For those of you who are not aware, Angkor Wat Temples cover a lot of ground and it takes a couple days to see it all. We made our way from Temple to Temple, snapping pics, learning the history and witnessing the toll time and nature has taken on the structures. We were there until approx 4:30 and then called it a day and headed back to the hotel. I am recovering now for a couple hours and then we are all meeting in the lobby for dinner at 7:30. This little downtime was greatly needed as it was a very early day, extremely hot and we covered a lot of ground, not to mention stairs after stairs.
