Wales or Bust! Vince Hancock, August 18, 2011 Today we had a very early start. We were back on the road at 7:30 am and took the morning ferry across the Irish sea. It was a fantastic day on the water, I spent most of the crossing outside breathing in the salt air. One little bonus was that I got to see Ulysses, the worlds biggest ferry which belongs to the Irish Ferries fleet. Unfortunatly, we crossed on a different ship, still nice tho. We arrived in Wales at noon and hit the road towards Llagollan. I have to say that the Irish scenery was beautiful but Wales has raised the bar to a whole new level. The roads took us through mountainous countryside which offered photo opportunities with every blink of the eye. The roads are very narrow but we have come to trust the skills of our driver Lucas. Once we arrived, we checked in to our hotel and immediately hit the town. It is a very small, quaint and incredibly scenic. Most people went off in different directions to do our own things for a couple hours. We explored the town and then later met up with every one back at the hotel lobby and headed out for dinner together. It was a great laugh and quality time well spent. I have to say that this is the part of these tours where things get difficult. Its during this time that the group has become close friends, sharing world experiences and hit with the realization that within a couple days, we have to say good bye to each other. The faces change but the memories and experiences stay the same. Tomorrow we head to Cardiff and our last full day and night of the trip. Saturday we end in London. Although I am looking forward to seeing some great friends from my last Topdeck tour, it will be hard to say good bye to this one. I will push forward and enjoy every minute of it. I am doing what I love and thats all one can ask for. Hopefully I can check in tomorrow night and update you once again. I apologize for rambling but I try to give you all the aspects and realities of travel. Hope you enjoyed todays blog and talk to you soon. Cheers! Blog
