Farewell to the U.K Vince Hancock, August 22, 2011 Hi every one, well once again the time has come end yet another successful trip and say good bye to some great friends. Another one for the books as they say. It is with a heavy heart that I head to Heathrow early tomorrow morning and head home via NYC. Today was a great way to book end the Celtic Trail trip. Matt and Zulieka were working today so I strapped on my back pack and wandered around London, taking in the sites once again while becoming lost in the hustle an bustle in a very positive way. Anyone who has been here is aware of the positive vibe that radiates in London. It is unlike (almost) anywhere else in the world. I spent some time at Kensington Palace which is where the late Princess Diana lived. It is under major renovation so as you will see, the pic’s are not that great. Side note, the entire city has a lot of renovations happening right now in preparation for the 2012 olympics. They are really going all out but back to today…..I visited Harrods department store which is a major fixture here. It is owned by Mohammed Al Fyed which is the father of Dodi whom was Princess Diana’s companion and died along with her that fateful day in a Paris tunnel. I also spent some time in the Piccadilly Circus area partaked in some people watching which happens to be a favorite past time of mine. I headed home around 5ish to sort out and repack my suitcase for tomorrow’s flight. Once Matt and Zulieka arrived home from work, we got ready and went out for dinner at a little place on the Thames. From there, back home for some relaxation. Now here I am, getting ready for bed for the last time in the U.K, well last time for now, I hope to be back in the near future! I hope you have enjoyed my blogs over the past couple weeks. It was my first time doing that so I promise they will get better with the next trip. At least you were able to get a little sneak peak in to my days over here. I will upload my pics on Facebook when I arrive home. Check them out if you so desire. Good night and I will do a quick finale tomorrow when I get home. Cheers Blog
