Asian Preparations! Vince Hancock, February 8, 2012 Hi every one, it has been a few months since my last post. I hope you all haven’t forgotten about this site as I will be blogging once again as soon as I depart on my next adventure. For those of you who do not know, my next adventure begins March 7th as I depart for Vietnam. I have signed up for a G Adventures( http://www.gadventures.com/ ) trip which will take me around southern Vietnam, through out Cambodia and in to Thailand where it will end in Bangkok. It is an area I have always wanted to visit so why not now? I am also once again stopping in Singapore to visit my cousin Lisa for a couple days as well. As some of you know, I spent 6 weeks in Singapore in 2010 and needless to say, fell in love with the place, people and culture. It was inevitable that I would return again and again. Although still one month away, I am busy preparing. The paperwork is all in order, I received my Vietnam Visa from Ottawa yesterday. That was not cheap, $250 for a little sticker they put in my passport, however not too many people I know have that sticker so i am quite proud of it. There is no greater trophy than a full passport! I am also exchanging money in all four countries currencies so I have a little to get me started in each area. Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand all have fantastic exchanges as our dollar is worth so much more however I will lose a little on the Singapore dollar. It will be a frugal trip there however after being there before, this trip is more about relaxing with my cousin. I also have a few hours in Tokyo each way so I will also get a 5th currency, the Japanese Yen, so I can have a meal at the airport etc. I am currently researching the area’s I will be visiting, I have learned that when you know what exactly you are witnessing, it enhances the experience all the more. I have already secured the locations of The Hard Rock Cafe’s in several areas as I collect the shirts! haha I hope you enjoy my upcoming posts, the whole blog thing is still relatively new to me so please excuse my unprofessional style. I hope to get better in time. Thanks and talk to you soon! Blog
