Hello once again!! Vince Hancock, September 15, 2017 Hi every one, it’s me, the traveling newf back once again after a long hiatus. It has been almost 3 years since I last posted a blog on here so needless to say, this page is a little outdated now. I have been working with my IT guy and although we now live in different provinces, hopefully we can freshen this page up and bring it back to life once again. I chose now to revive this site as I am leaving Thursday (Sept 21st) to head to Europe to scratch another 5 countries off the list. What better way to share my experience with you all than to write a few blogs along the way. I will try my best to bring a little Europe in to your home and and maybe inspire some of you to hit the road (or sky) and do the same. It has been almost 3 years since I have done any international travel and I have been feeling the itch deep in my core for some time now. How I let 3 years slip by I will never know but I have renewed my commitment to travel and hopefully can end 2017 with a great adventure abroad. I am also already in the planning stages of several bucket list destination trips for 2018. My 40th…..yes 40th birthday is not so far away now so I have something up my sleeve to make it memorable. That being said, I haven’t exactly been sitting around collecting dust in that 3 year time frame either. I have been from one end of Canada to the other too many times to count. When I last posted, I was living in Hamilton Ontario and commuting to Fort McMurray Alberta for work. I have since relocated to Slave Lake Alberta and work here full time. I continued to visit Hamilton (my 2nd home) every few months as my parents were there, however last Summer they both retired and moved back to Newfoundland. I now have been making the trek to the home land twice a year to spend time with them there. I made a personal commitment to myself that I would stay in western Canada as long as I am able to go twice a year. Should that become no longer possible, i’ll revisit my location of residency at that time. Other than the trips east, I have spent quite a bit of time in the Mountains with Jasper being the most frequented. I get the same piece of mind in the mountains as I do by the ocean so I go as often as time (and money) permits. Funny thing is, with all that traveling within Canada, I never thought to continue to post blogs as I just considered them trips home or little get a ways that no one would be interested in. It has since been pointed out to me by several people that although these places may be regular to me, they may be very interesting to others who have never been to said destinations. I have to agree as I know a lot of people who say they would love to experience the culture and rugged beauty of Newfoundland, the endless tourist destinations of Ontario or the serenity of the Rocky Mountains here in Alberta and British Colombia. Going forward, I will try my best to blog on these trips as well. As I said earlier, I am leaving next week to head back to Europe and cross a few more places off my list. This trip will take me to Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary. I fly in to Berlin on Thursday to start my adventure and I will end in Budapest roughly 17 days later. I fly back from there. I won’t detail the itinerary just yet as I plan to blog along the way . I just wanted to take this opportunity to re-enter the world of travel blogging and get my name back out there once again. I will try to keep you updated on my whereabouts and interested in my experiences as I move from place to place. I will also be posting pics on my Facebook and Instagram (travelingnewf) so feel free to check those out as well. New blog posts will be advertised via Facebook. Comments and/or questions related to travel are always welcome. Thanks for checking in and allowing me to get this site up and running once again. Hopefully a new fresh look is not far off. Cheers and see you all soon! Vince The World is Vast and Meant for Wandering Blog
