Lovin’ it Vince Hancock, August 13, 2011 Hi everyone. Well its been a fantastic day to say the very least. We left Belfast early this morning with our first stop being The Giants Causeway. Wow! Surrounded by massive cliffs, the causeway is a gathering of perfectly shaped hexaganal rocks that jet out in to the sea. This stop was one of the selling points for me to even do this tour and let me say, it was worth every single penny. Moving on from there, we stopped in the town of Derry or also known as Londonderry. We weren’t sure if we would be allowd to enter the town today as there was a huge parade to celebrate protestant dominance in that town. It used to be a dangerous time to be in the town but the marches have been peaceful the past few years. We called ahead and were granted access. We watched the march, had a bite to eat and headed on to our next stop. After a couple of small town stops, we made here to Galway. I can honestly say, this is exactly how I pictured Ireland. This town is just phenonimal in regards to scenery, the people and the lifestyle. Just arrived back to the hotel from the downtown area where the group had dinner and then on to a pub for a pint (or two) of Guiness. It was in that pub tonight where our group bonded over a pint and new friendships are being formed. It is nights like I just had that make me keep doing these tours. We are only one day in to the tour and already its money extremely well spent. Tomorrow morning we are headed off to the Aran Islands for the day. I will try to check in tomorrow night if possible. Much love to those reading. Erin go bragh! Blog
